: Rebecca "Becky" Thomas, 71, of Olney, died on May 27, 2020 at Helia Healthcare in Olney. She was born on October 5, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Dr. Frederick Schaeffer and Elizabeth (Hairfield). She married Alan Thomas on June 14, 1969 Worthington, Ohio, and he survives. Becky taught Elementary School in several schools in Richland County for twenty years. She was also a partner in business with her husband at Thomas Factory Outlet. Becky was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and going to the casino with family and friends. Being a mom and grandma was the most important thing in her life. Becky is survived by her husband, Alan Thomas of Olney; son, Edward Thomas and wife Andrea of Olney; two grandsons, Brody and Jett Thomas; brother, Dr. John F. Schaeffer of Sanford, FL; sister, Carolyn Strutner of Westerville, OH; sister, Barbara (Pat) Bowers of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law, Carole Baynes of Ellettsville, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Becky was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials can be made to Richland County Humane Society.
