Luann (Perone) Toth was born December 7th, 1960 in Columbus to James A. and Hope A. Perone. Luann grew up in Worthington where she fondly recalled working at the Olde Bakery, participating in bowling and playing field hockey. She was a founding member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Luann graduated high school in 1978. She was always concerned about others and decided to pursue a Bachelors degree in nursing at The Ohio State University. Luann worked for many years at Riverside Methodist Hospital (OhioHealth) as a patient escort, staff nurse and assistant nurse manager (9 East). One of her patients was the last Columbus resident on an iron lung. After earning her Masters degree from Ball State University, she worked the past 15 years as an educator and an RN in Pre-Admission Testing at Dublin Methodist Hospital (OhioHealth). She married her husband, John, in November 1995. Together they adopted Anastasia and Alexander from a Russian orphanage in 2001. The Toth family lived in Old Worthington and greatly appreciated the community, especially the schools. They also enjoyed numerous trips with their extended family. Luann was especially devoted to her older brother, Jim, and his wife, Karen; attending their concerts was always a highlight. In addition, friends and family may remember Luann for her intense love of her cats. Luann was a regular at the McConnell water aerobics classes and a deacon at Liberty Barn Presbyterian Church in Powell. For the past year, she battled cancer, completing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Luann was surrounded by family and friends at Kobacker House before peacefully passing Thursday, February 20th.
