Kristina “Kristy” Shannon, 52, passed away on June 26, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to Gary and Diane Coffman. Kristy graduated from Ohio University with her bachelor’s degree and then finished her schooling at Otterbein, obtaining her master’s degree in education. She taught in the Worthington School District for 27 years. When asked what her greatest achievement was, she easily answered, “my children.” She raised her children, Jack and Kasey, the way she lived her life, adventurous. Always learning and trying new things she kept her family together with her love of cooking, gardening and protecting backyard species with a vengeance if you’re a house sparrow. We are devastated that she didn’t have more time with us, but we all received more time than we expected. That time was found for us by her watchful James medical team under the direction of Dr. Noonan and Jessica Ruple, with the nurses of the 11th floor of the Martha Morehouse Center as well as Mavis and the schedulers. Gratitude is also extended to her team from Cleveland Clinic: Lisa Getman, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Quintini who gave her hope in a dark time. Kristy will be really missed by her husband, Mark Shannon; children Jack and Kasey Shannon; mother Diane Coffman; sister, Jenny (Kyle); and nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Gary Coffman.
