John Phillip Taylor entered peacefully into rest with his family beside him on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the age of 77. John was born on July 18, 1946 to the late Henry and Alice Berry Taylor in Columbus, Ohio. In John's early years, his first job after high school was working on the railroad. Later on he worked for the radio station WNCI in sales. He then began working for Remco, with the hard job of retrieving furniture from customers that did not pay their bills! I am sure they did not like seeing 'Big Bad John' (as he was nicknamed early on) show up at their door! He had many great stories to tell about those days! Later he joined Alliance Data in collections, until his retirement. John was a loving husband, father, big brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and great-uncle and friend to many. He enjoyed camping, car and van shows, especially showing off his red van that he devoted many hours refurbishing. John loved the Buckeyes and would never miss a football or basketball game, and had many friends that he loved to hang out with. He especially was close to Donna and Jerry Davis, who were there for him in many ways after Judy passed. He would always talk about Donna's good cooking! John also enjoyed spending time with his great grandson Parker, taking him fishing and going places. He loved gardening and was very proud of the roses he planted, many were started with a single stem. John would do anything for anybody. He was very devoted to his family and was very proud of them. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Taylor. He is survived by his children, Rob (Stephanie) Taylor, Jamie (Jeremy) Summitt, Joe (Kimmy) Snelling; grandchildren, Alyssa (Alex) Widener, Tyson Taylor, Trent Bourke, great-grandchildren, Parker Bourke; sister, Kathy (Ronnie) Baisden; 3 nieces and 1 nephew from Missouri, along with 10 great-nieces and nephews. Also many loving cousins (especially Mary Jo) and friends that will miss him tremendously.
