Michael W “Mike” Bobin, 66 years old of Worthington, Ohio passed away July 28, 2024 at his happy place on Buckeye Lake. Born May 10, 1958 in Pittsburg, PA to William and June Bobin. Survived by Godson Seth Warren and special friend Cindy Lemaster. So many close friends, please don’t be mad if I miss you. Gavin Warren, Andy Wolfe, Kenny P, Axel P, Edison & Christina, Jonny H, Barber Dan, Sarah P, Karla V, Pam M, Cindy D and so many others. Proceeded in death by father Willaim Bobin, mother June Bobin and sister Carol Bobin Stock. Graduate of Thomas Worthington high school in 1976 where he was on the swim team and won many medals. Long time student at Kent State University and finishing his bachelor of science degree at Franklin University. His major was in applied communication. Live event and media production/presentation. Mike spent his first 5 years living in Charleston WV, then his family moved to Worthington, Ohio. He spent many years in Kent Oh, going to school and enjoying the music scene in the Cleveland area. He spent many years living in Thornville Ohio at Buckeye Lake. But moved to a “penthouse” apartment in Worthington to be closer to his parents at their end of lives. But he still has a little place at Buckeye lake to get away from the city life. This is where he was happiest. Michael had multiple careers in his life. Including live entertainment and media field for over 20 years. Bringing shows to Nelson’s Legends such as The Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffett and Lenny Kravitz. Owned a mobile production company with mobile broadcasting equipment for sporting events and live concerts. Worked as a cameraman and making commercials for channel 10tv. Built and operated a radio station. Worked at Boeing. Wrote a training manual for a nuclear power plant. And many other interesting jobs. His last career endeavor was being a railroad engineer for CSX railroad for 15 years. Yes they let Mike drive trains. He retired from there several years ago. Mike loved music like no other. He enjoyed going to live, local shows and really liked good original music. He played guitar, owning two that were his prized possessions. He could listen to a song and tell you what kind of guitar was being used and what other musical instruments were being played. Mikes other love was cars. Specifically, Mercedes Benz. Maybe because they had the same initials MB. He also loved animals, especially horses. This started on his grandparents farm riding ponies. He owned a beautiful, prize winning horse many years ago, Vanity’s Rhythm Ace, that he still talked proudly of. Mike never knew a stranger and could bring a laugh or a smile to most anyone’s face. He had so many good friends that he loved and cared about. His loss will leave a big hole in so many hearts. We couldn’t have asked for a better friend and we will miss him everyday. Mike recently had health issues that led to a partial right leg amputation. But he didn’t let that get him down. He was an inspiration to all not to let a bad brake get you down. These were words I found on his social media page “Main goal is to remain positive. Realizing happiness comes from within ones self, flows outward making life more meaningful and rewarding.” Mike will be forever loved and deeply missed. For him it was all about comfort and joy, also in his own words.
