On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, our beloved father, son, Papa, brother, uncle, friend and loving husband, Jack Savage, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on March 30, 1953, and grew up in Worthington, OH, with his parents, John Savage, Sr. and Martha Savage (Price) and his three brothers. Jack attended Worthington High School and spent much of his time there as an athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. After graduating in 1971, he attended Ohio University, where he continued his baseball career on the University's team. After college, Jack joined the Carpenters Local 200 where he proudly spent the rest of his life as a member and from which he retired. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bev Savage; children: Shana (Scott) Tackett, Cyndi (Jeremy) Vanmeter, Bob (Erin) Biehl, Sandra (Jerry) Ulibarri & Melissa (Andy) Mitrey; grandchildren: Mitchell Ulibarri, Ryan Ulibarri, Alex Mitrey, Jack Tackett, Maci Mitrey, Luke Ulibarri, Josh Ulibarri, Nicholas Mitrey, Ellie Mitrey, Lexi Tackett, Caitlynn Copper and Cameron Copper; his mother: Martha Savage; his brothers: John (Nita) Savage, Jim (Cathy) Savage and Jerry (Barb) Savage, as well as many, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: John Savage, Sr.; father-in-law: Milton Opper; mother-in-law: Laurene Opper; brother-in-law: Richard Opper; and sister-in-law: Judy Opper. Jack loved being outside in his back yard and spent countless hours over the years enjoying his pools. He loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events. When he wanted to relax he could be caught doing a crossword puzzle or playing Solitaire and Wordscapes online. Jack was a very social person. It was often said that he never met a stranger and he seemed to know someone everywhere he went. Because of this, he had many cherished friendships over the years! He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
