Jill Colleen Anderson passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2020 in Boulder, Colorado. Jill was born on May 21st,1966 in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Thomas Worthington High School in 1984. Jill was a 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and was a member of the OSU Sailing Team. Jill continued her education at the University of Cincinnati, earning an endorsement in Gifted Education. An avid reader and writer, Jill found her lifelong passion in education, nurturing growth and resilience in her students as a Gifted Education teacher and tutor. Jill moved to Colorado in 2002 and was a staunch supporter and advocate for women’s rights and LGBTQ equality. Jill was a lifelong enthusiastic Ohio State Football fan, and she did not hesitate to share her love of the Buckeyes with nearly everyone she met. She enjoyed attending Ohio State football and basketball games from an early age with her father, Donald Anderson, who was Dean of the OSU College of Education and professor emeritus at the college for many years. Jill was a loving mother, and is survived by her children Marissa Anderson Forderer of Ft. Collins, CO and Elisabeth Wardlow of Westminster, CO. She is survived by her sister Michele Anderson Ginter of Lewis Center, OH and sister-in-law Tari Anderson of Cincinnati, OH; as well as nieces and nephews Sam, Paige, and Grant Anderson; and Emily, Megan, and Anna Ginter. She was preceded in death by parents Don and Gail Anderson, brother Greg Anderson, and sister Kristi Anderson. She will be missed by countless friends and family members across the country. Celebrations of Jill’s life in Colorado and Ohio are pending, and details will be shared in the near future. Jill’s family requests any desired contributions in her memory to be made to “The Donald and Gail Anderson Award”, which supports public K-12 school professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the Ohio State University College of Education.
