Mary Damsel, age 89, passed away on March 14, 2023 at her home in Worthington, Ohio. She was born in New York City to the late Walter and Isabel Miksic and was raised in New York until her family moved to Ohio. She went to Zanesville High School graduating in 1951. Mary was married to William Damsel, a high school teacher and football coach, and she spent much of her life raising her sons and as the family moved numerous times within Ohio from Dublin to Zanesville to Pataskala to Coshocton to Nashport and to Hilliard before finally settling in Worthington. She was a tremendous cook and had a part-time catering business, A Sprig of Parsley. She worked many years for the Worthington schools as the secretary to the Worthington High School principal and later as the athletic director's secretary. In retirement Mary was an active member and a past-president of the Worthington Women's Club. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her stepfather Miles Adams, husband William Damsel who passed away in 2014, and much-loved godmother Bessie Parziale. Mary is survived by her sons Bill (Lee) Damsel of Worthington and Chris (Annetta) Damsel of West Bloomfield, Michigan; grandchildren Will (Kaley) Damsel of Worthington, Amanda Damsel of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Emily (Drew) Smith of Powell, Ohio; great grandchildren Hunter, Lincoln, Levi, Jude, and Riggs; sister Deborah Bess Adams of Lake Carmel, New York; and beloved cousin Ren (Pam) Parziale of Kearneysville, West Virginia.
