Larry L. Liebert, born on October 8, 1945, went to heaven on July 15, 2023. His accomplishments in the corporate, civic and, more importantly, personal arenas are stellar examples of how this amazing man used his wit, wisdom and success to enrich the lives of so many. His efforts in his family's company, Liebert Corporation, helped the Columbus based manufacturer and distributor of computer support products grow from a start-up business into a multi-million dollar international icon of global manufacturing with 1500+ associates and 11 plants around the world. His lust for life and adventure started young. Racing the local streets of Columbus led to his car racing career and passion for motorcycles. His love of the water led him to the Worthington High School swim team where he was State Champion in the backstroke. He also enjoyed scuba diving and deep sea fishing for which he still holds several world records. His passion for the finer things in life led to an enviable wine collection which included the finest year of Bordeaux, 1945, his birth year. World travel was also a passion; the Cayman Islands being his favorite place to spend time. Larry applied his impressive executive skills to many local charities. His personal favorite was Recreation Unlimited where he served as Chairman of the Board starting in 1988. In his unwavering commitment for those less fortunate he used his time, energy and inspiration to rally other business leaders to build and grow RU's campus into the remarkable and sustainable charity and campus it is today. Larry also used his many personal assets to improve local businesses, and he served on boards for Huntington Bank, Symix, and the American Safety Institute. He and his family also enjoyed the many benefits of membership in YPO and CEO. Amid all of his business and philanthropic accomplishments it is safe to say that his family was of the utmost importance to Larry. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, as well as his four children: Lynne (Bill) Martin, Alison (Jay) Wooldridge, Jessica Liebert, Josh (Megan) Liebert; former wife and friend, Pam Liebert, sister Joyce Zallanta, and nine loving grandchildren: Jake (Haley) Martin, Zach Martin, Kyle Martin, Andrew Wooldridge, Nicholas Wooldridge, Zoe Doerschuk, Willa Doerschuck, Marley Liebert and Finn Liebert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Evelyn Liebert and his brother, Robert Liebert. He blessed all of us with a zest for life, travel, generosity and love. His spirit will be missed by those of us left behind but we will find comfort in knowing that he is free from pain and safe in his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
