LEXINGTON: Edwin E. Boggs, 87, of Lexington, passed away, Friday morning, June 7, 2024, at Avita Hospital Ontario following an extended illness. The son of Clarke and Mary (Roth) Boggs, Ed was born March 28, 1937, in Columbus, OH and graduated from Worthington High School in 1955. Ed worked as a Die-Maker at the General Motors Ontario Plant where he retired following a 40-year career. On November 7, 1959, he married Judy Lee Parker, and together they raised a family in Lexington. He was a member of Lexington Grace Brethren Church. A former firefighter for the Troy Township Fire Department, Ed began serving in 1967. At the time of his retirement, he was serving as Captain and a State Fire Instructor. Ed also served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Village of Lexington. Ed was a dedicated husband, father and grandpa who loved his family and always made them his first priority. He enjoyed boating his entire life, passing along his passion and way of life to all of his children. Together, Ed and Judy shared many great years wintering in Arizona and Texas and traveling throughout the United States. Ed's passion later in life was genealogy. He had a deep interest in studying and researching his and his extended family's history. If Ed knew you there is a chance you are in one of the three books he authored. He is survived by his children Skip Boggs of Mansfield; Shelley & Bart Griffith of Lexington, Steve & Robin Boggs of Cape Canaveral, FL and Sam & Linda Boggs of Oak Harbor, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy, his sister Patricia and a granddaughter Carmie.
